Chengdu, Day 7

The first week of the Chengdu OIP has passed and I believe that I have came closer to achieving my goal of learning more of the Chinese culture and how it has been affected by China's fast growing rate of globalisation. Along side that, I have also been able to forge many friendships with many of the China students along the way. Through the many cultural visits to the historic places in Chengdu, I was exposed to many to the preservation efforts done by the people of China in order to continue to preserve it's heritage while progressing forward.  Music, being one of my main point of interest, has been carefully guarded and preserved and has been passed down to the younger generations rather than being kept in the past. This is a positive sign in showing how a country can be modern yet traditional.
